Position Summary:
Tidal Basin is seeking qualified candidates for the Individual Assistance Case Manager position supporting our client and applicants impacted by disaster events.
Job Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Implement and coordinate the Individual Assistance Programs
- Perform intake, and assessments, gather documents to establish disaster program eligibility including payments and withdrawals/denials
- Review, analyze, evaluate, and coordinate eligibility determinations
- Coordinate eligibility and payments through the Federal Disaster System
- Conduct review of cases to ensure proper processing
- Mediate complex problem resolution
- Function as a liaison and applicant advocate
- Maintain a high standard to protect client information
- Provide resources and referrals to clients to meet their disaster-related unmet needs
- Provide assistance to applicants throughout the application process
- Maintain client-related data systems, including case notes and a complete system of record entries
- Work collaboratively with a team
- Exhibit a strong work ethic and a desire to adhere to strict boundaries and professional ethics in the care of others, awareness of the impact of a disaster on the community, family, and individual
- Maintain a complete understanding of all applicable Program policies and requirements
- Other tasks as assigned
Experience and Education:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- It is preferred that individuals possess a minimum of one year experience as a member of a state or federal recovery operation, or equivalent experience commensurate with the ability to perform the necessary duties
- Basic knowledge of the FEMA Disaster Case Management Program is desirable
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications and Adobe Acrobat
