Position Summary:

Tidal Basin is the nation’s premier provider of integrated preparedness, emergency response management, and disaster recovery consulting services. We are on island and working to support those needing assistance and have opportunities to add to our team. If you are interested, available and want to help others, we have an immediate opportunity for an Intake Specialist. 

Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Support registration and tracking of disaster survivors at a Community Assistance Center/DRC site utilizing common/shared systems with the Agency having jurisdiction 

  • Respond to disaster survivors in person, over the phone, and conduct a thorough intake interview 

  • Accurately enter information gathered 

  • Diligently follow up with survivors through a series of calls, texts, and emails 

  • Maintain disaster survivor’s information in the CRM with detailed notes and plans of action for follow-up 

  • Consistently meet or exceed both team and individual goals 

  • Complete required training 

Skills and Competencies:  

  • Ability to respond promptly to instructions 

  • Detail oriented with ability to provide and direct survivors to available information   

  • Ability to communicate clearly in an empathetic manner and be respectful of those impacted

  • Ensure all required documents and processes are completed and followed 

  • Ability to perform required skills in exercises and/or actual incidents as required 

  • Must be proficient using a computer 

  • Must be comfortable working in ambiguous environments: Disaster Recovery Centers, field offices, etc. 

  • Ability to adapt and respond in an appropriate professional manner to changes in operations, and to other duties and tasks assigned 

  • Must possess the ability to clearly understand and action directives in a dynamic environment to ensure success of the mission assignment. 

Education and Experience: 

  • High School Diploma. 

  • Strong customer service experience 

  • Preferred experience with technology tools 

  • Preferred experience in disaster recovery, housing, or sheltering 

Location: North Shore, Oahu 

Pay Rate: $28 to $30/hour
