National Practice Lead - Resilience and Mitigation

Tidal Basin is seeking an energetic, experienced, and results-oriented practice leader for its national Mitigation practice to lead Tidal Basin’s growth in this sector. At the foundation of how they approach work should be excellence in client delivery. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and experienced leader to grow a multidisciplinary service.
Position Summary: This leader will have the ability to take what has already been built and organize, grow, and take it to new levels of service and revenue and to new clients. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
High quality, timely, and profitable delivery of US Mitigation project portfolio.
Influence and implement a US Mitigation market strategy, utilizing Tidal Basin’s national teams and capabilities
Manage or provide oversight on a portfolio of projects or programs of significant size and complexity, and significant financial impact.
Grow Mitigation planning, design, grants management, and consulting practice
Work closely and collaboratively with Tidal Basin’s Business Unit Leaders (BUL) and Regional Vice Presidents (RVP) to share resources, augment capabilities, and bring the best of Tidal Basin to each and every project.
Identify new staff for hiring and cross-train existing staff to deliver mitigation projects, fostering a culture of trust, accountability, leadership, and ownership within the organization
Grow existing clients in partnership with Federal and Consulting & Technology Business Unit Leaders
Participate in and help drive innovation workstreams to differentiate Tidal Basin and address market changes, challenges, and opportunities
Support production of winning proposals (both technical and cost)
Prepare and lead client presentations and interviews
Refine existing delivery strategies to improve predictability, quality, and efficiency.
Serve as point of escalation for all US mitigation client issues.
Build US relationships with senior leaders at Federal, State, Local, Territorial, Tribal and commercial entities alongside the Regional Vice Presidents and Business Unit PM
Attract and secure new mitigation clients and build the opportunity pipeline alongside the RVPs and BULs
Travel as-needed to support project, client, and team needs (Estimate 50% of time with potential for extended deployments)
Provide thought leadership ideas internally and externally.
Serve as Mitigation Subject Mater Expert to projects across the organization
Skills and Desired Competencies:
Deep understanding of project management and consulting service model.
Experience working to deploy solutions to support clients in project and program management in one of the Tidal Basin Service Lines (Public Assistance, Response, Preparedness, Housing, Financial and Program Management, Mitigation, Resilience, Customer Service Centers).
Provide strong, dynamic leadership that mentors, develops, and guides team members, staff, and client relationships.
Excellent oral, written, organizational, and time management skills, with ability to multi-task and work with minimal or no supervision.
Experience working with federal grant-funded programs
Excellent client relations and an understanding of local, state, and federal government
Required Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Planning, Engineering/Architecture, Environmental, Finance or related degree. Master’s Degree preferred.
20 years of progressively increasing responsibility and experience delivering mitigation projects and programs at the Federal, State, Local, Tribal and Territorial Levels
Licensure in Field of Study (i.e. AICP, PE, AIA, CPA)
Project Management Professional (PMP)
Experience leading diverse technical and geographic teams
