Position Summary: Tidal Basin is seeking qualified candidates for the Individual Assistance Case Manager position supporting our client and applicants impacted by disaster events.
Job Duties and Responsibilities include:
Implement and coordinate the Individual Assistance Programs
Perform intake, and assessments, gather documents to establish disaster program eligibility including payments and withdrawals/denials
Review, analyze, evaluate, and coordinate eligibility determinations
Coordinate eligibility and payments through the Federal Disaster System
Conduct review of cases to ensure proper processing
Mediate complex problem resolution
Function as a liaison and applicant advocate
Maintain a high standard to protect client information
Provide resources and referrals to clients to meet their disaster-related unmet needs
Provide assistance to applicants throughout the application process
Maintain client-related data systems, including case notes and a complete system of record entries
Work collaboratively with a team
Exhibit a strong work ethic and a desire to adhere to strict boundaries and professional ethics in the care of others, awareness of the impact of a disaster on the community, family, and individual
Maintain a complete understanding of all applicable Program policies and requirements
Other tasks as assigned
Experience and Education:
Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
It is preferred that individuals possess a minimum of one year experience as a member of a state or federal recovery operation, or equivalent experience commensurate with the ability to perform the necessary duties
Basic knowledge of the FEMA Disaster Case Management Program is desirable
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications and Adobe Acrobat
