Tidal Basin has an immediate need for an experienced Safety Manager to join our team.The Safety Manager will lead a team of safety professionals in one or more state led programs that provide temporary housing and to ensure safe conditions at one or more state-led interim housing construction sites. Job Duties and Responsibilities include:
Assess the construction site for potential hazards and auditing operations to ensure compliance with safety procedures.
Perform inspections throughout assigned regions, organize, and distribute staff to each job site.
Manage effective completion of all job site safety orientations and audit logs for compliance.
Perform weekly Jobsite Audits along with Project Teams. Organize, record, and distribute to each job site.
Lead safety training of field and office staff.
Perform trade partner safety evaluations and coordinate with preconstruction and project management on unsafe trade partners for evaluation of future work.
Work with trade partners regarding trends in deficiencies and trade issues.
Skills and Competencies:
Deep knowledge of construction site safety including electrical, and heavy equipment hazards
Ability to lead staff in the assessment and documentation of hazards
Strong interpersonal skills to navigate contractor and client relationships tactfully
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Those with proficiency in Spanish, Olelo Hawai'I, Ilokano, Korean, or Tagalog encouraged to apply
Required Education and Experience:
Associate’s degree (may be substituted for work experience)
May involve extreme heat, inclement weather, dust, and noise
Candidate will be provided with PPE, but will be expected to furnish own footwear meeting or exceeding the ASTM F2413-18 standard
Work Location: Hybrid: a combination of remote and on-site in HI.
The pay range for this position is $42 to $55 per hour.
