Position Summary: Tidal Basin is seeking a is seeking experienced Florida Licensed Building Plans Reviewers, to review/approve structural building plans. In this role, you will assess construction documents for projects submitted post-hurricane to ensure they meet local, state, and federal codes. This role helps accelerate rebuilding efforts by performing rapid and detailed reviews of plans related to structural repairs, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Job Duties and Responsibilities include:
Review and approve plans for residential, commercial, and public buildings for compliance with the Florida Building Code.
Identify deficiencies or code violations in blueprints and recommend changes.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to clarify technical issues.
Work closely with local officials to ensure compliance with zoning and safety standards.
Prioritize emergency repair plans to facilitate rapid restoration efforts.
Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
Analyze project requirements and create detailed plans that align with contractual obligations.
Conduct quality inspections and implement quality control measures throughout the construction process.
Collect and analyze data related to project progress, resource allocation, and budget adherence.
Collaborate with construction site teams to ensure effective communication and coordination.
Other related job duties as required.
Skills and Competencies:
Familiarity with contract management processes is essential.
Strong background in quality inspection and quality control practices.
Experience in data collection and analysis within a construction context is highly desirable.
Ability to work effectively on construction sites while maintaining a focus on safety and compliance.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Strong communication skills for collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
Understanding of key financial concepts related to real estate transactions and valuations.
Awareness of tax implications that may affect property values or investment decisions.
Education and Experience:
Have at least four years of full-time experience as a plans examiner or inspector
Requires Certification as a Building Plans Examiner as issued by the State of Florida through the Florida Building Code Administrators and Inspectors Board
Proven experience in construction management or a related field is preferred.
