Position Summary
Tidal Basin is seeking a reliable individual to join our team as a Mover. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while safely and efficiently moving, packing a truck, and transporting household or commercial goods. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and customer service.

Responsible for the careful and secure relocation of items for our clients. This role involves manual labor, driving company vehicles, and ensuring all items arrive at their destination undamaged while delivering exceptional customer service.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Load, secure, and unload items into and out of the moving truck using proper lifting techniques and moving equipment (dollies, hand trucks, straps).
  • Drive company moving trucks or vans to and from client locations in a safe and timely manner.
  • Assemble furniture and other items as needed at the destination locations.
  • Take inventory of items and ensure nothing is lost or misplaced during the moving process.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to client inquiries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure the moving process runs smoothly and efficiently.
  • Ensure that destination locations remain clean during the moving process.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures to prevent injuries to self, coworkers, or others.
Required Skills and Competencies
  • Physical Fitness: Must be physically capable of repeatedly lifting and carrying heavy items (up to 50 pounds alone and 100+ pounds with assistance from a team member) for extended periods. This includes standing, walking, bending, climbing stairs, and balancing throughout the day.
  • Valid Driver's License: A valid driver's license from your state of residence is required.
  • Good Driving Record: Must possess a clean driving record with no more than 2-3 moving violations or at-fault accidents within the last three years.
  • Background Check: Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
  • Stamina: The stamina to perform physically strenuous manual duties for hours at a time, often in various weather conditions (extreme cold, snow, icy conditions).
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and customer service skills are necessary for positive client interactions and team coordination.
  • Reliability: A strong work ethic and always on-time to work assignments.
Desired Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in the moving industry or a related field is a plus.
  • Evacuees from Typhoon Halong impacted areas.
