Tidal Basin is seeking an experienced, and results-oriented strategic advisor to serve as practice leader for its national Housing/long-term recovery practice to drive Tidal Basin’s growth in this sector. At the foundation of how they approach work should be excellence in client delivery. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and experienced housing programs expert to help grow a multidisciplinary service. Position Summary:The National Practice Lead will be capable of enhancing and expanding existing business, elevating service and revenue to new heights, and attracting new clients. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Develop, influence and implement a US Housing/long-term recovery market strategy, utilizing Tidal Basin’s national teams and capabilities
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and clients at the Federal, State, and Local level to expand the business network and opportunities.
Support the BUL by providing recommendations and guidance on a portfolio of projects or programs of significant size, complexity, and significant financial impact
Support the Business Unit Lead in providing high quality, timely, and profitable delivery of the US Housing Recovery and Grant project portfolio
Help grow the Housing planning, design, grants management, and consulting practice
Support the BUL in identifying new staff for hiring and cross-train existing staff to deliver disaster housing recovery projects, fostering a culture of trust, accountability, leadership, and ownership within the organization
Support growth of existing clients in partnership with Federal and Consulting & Technology BULs
Participate in and help drive innovative workstreams to differentiate Tidal Basin and address market changes, challenges, and opportunities
Support production of winning proposals (both technical and cost)
Prepare and lead client presentations and interviews
Attract and secure new Housing/long-term recovery clients and build the opportunity pipeline alongside the Growth Team and BULs
Travel as needed to support project, client, and team needs (Estimate 60% of time)
Provide thought leadership ideas internally and externally
Serve as a Subject Mater Expert and mentor for Housing Recovery or Grant projects across the organization
Skills and Desired Competencies:
Strong leadership skills to inspire and manage teams, along with experience in organizational development and change management.
Deep understanding of project management and consulting service model.
Deep experience in all facets of Disaster Housing Recovery, Housing Grant Management, and Long-Term Recovery Programs including but not limited to federal grant and reimbursement programs from FEMA, HUD, SBA and others.
Experience in strategic planning to develop short-term and long-term growth strategies
Experience working to deploy solutions to support clients in project and program management in one of the Tidal Basin Service Lines (Public Assistance, Response, Preparedness, Housing, Financial and Program Management, Mitigation, Resilience).
Provide strong, dynamic leadership that mentors, develops, and guides team members, staff, and client relationships.
Excellent oral, written, organizational, and time management skills, with ability to multi-task and work with minimal or no supervision.
Experience working with federal grant-funded programs
Excellent client relations and an understanding of local, state, and federal government
Required Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in emergency management, Planning, Engineering/Architecture, Environmental, Finance or related degree. Master’s Degree preferred.
15 years of progressively increasing responsibility and experience delivering mitigation projects and programs at the Federal, State, Local, Tribal or Territorial Levels
Preferred Licensure in Field of Study (i.e. CEM, AICP, PE, AIA, PMP, CPA)
Experience leading diverse technical and geographic teams
