Position Summary:

The Operations Lead – Logistics is responsible for coordinating and executing field logistics activities in support of disaster response and recovery operations.  This position will deploy to client-designated locations and oversee the inventory, staging, distribution, delivery, and tracking of technology equipment and other operational resources to impacted communities. This position oversees our growing team of field communications, mission and liaison professionals who work as coordinators for anticipated episodic opportunities to provide critical support to communities affected by disaster events. Operations are throughout client identified locations including warehouses, a variety of staging areas in impacted communities, disaster recovery centers (DRCs), and Emergency Operations Centers (EOCs). The Operations Lead – Logistics will work closely with client representatives, field teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure resources are delivered efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with established procedures. This position requires deployment for potentially extended periods of time.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support the Project Manager in the delivery of services
  • Lead deployment to client identified locations to oversee on-the-ground logistics and technical support
  • Coordinate the receipt, inventory, staging, distribution, and delivery of technology equipment and related supplies
  • Maintain accurate inventory and asset-tracking records, including equipment issuance, transfers, returns, and reconciliation
  • Ensure compliance with client requirements, company procedures, safety protocols, and equipment-handling standards
  • Maintain documentation and provide regular status updates regarding inventory levels, deliveries, outstanding needs, and operational issues.
  • Oversee the distribution of technology systems to designated counties, municipalities, and agencies throughout the state in areas impacted by disasters or requiring additional communications capability
  • Provide technical assistance to the team, program staff and partners, ensuring smooth operation of service delivery systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues, and logistical challenges related to operations and implementation
  • Ensure accurate records of activities including incident logs, inventories, and operational updates
  • Participate in and assist with training to ensure a knowledgeable team, meeting all project requirements
  • Follow and ensure compliance with all Health and Safety guidelines
  • Perform other operational and logistics duties as required to support response and recovery activities

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and rapidly changing field environment

  • Strong interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
  • Knowledge of technology solutions with strong computer skills, including using Microsoft Office Suite applications with the ability to quickly learn new computer software, programs, or tools
  • Ability to assess situations and take appropriate action in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
  • Ability to travel to disaster sites and affected communities working on-site
  • Sitting or standing for hours at a time
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions and challenging outdoor environments
  • Ability to work up to twelve-hour shifts and maintain flexibility for longer shifts as needed
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time if needed
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. throughout the day to transport Starlink systems

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics, operations, inventory/asset management, field services, or a related function
  • Previous experience supporting large-scale field operations, technology deployments, emergency response, disaster recovery, or community-based operations preferred
  • Valid drivers’ license and ability to travel and deploy to client-designated locations required.
